Car and Driver just pitted five midsize two-row SUV competitors against each other for their “Meat in the Middle” comparison test, and the Honda Passport was found head and shoulders above its erstwhile competitors, which included:

  • Nissan Murano
  • Ford Edge
  • Chevrolet Blazer
  • Hyundai Santa Fe

Read on to find out how the Honda Passport surpassed its rivals to become Car and Driver’s Best 2-row SUV.

Car and Drivers Meat in the Middle

The 2-row midsize SUV segment is becoming more competitive every year as more and more drivers switch from the classic sedan to something with added space and a more commanding ride height. With that in mind, Car and Driver put together their Meat in the Middle comparison.

Each model chosen is either new or recently updated; the new Chevy Blazer and Honda Passport went up against the established Nissan Murano, Ford Edge, and Hyundai Santa Fe. In the end, the Honda Passport offered: “The best combination of utility and driving pleasure.”
