Insurance Institute for Highway Safety Selects Six 2022 Honda Models
Published: 06/22/2022

A total of six different 2022 Honda Models have been awarde d the IIHS Top Safety Pick* for 2022. The awarded vehicles include the Honda Accord, Honda Civic Hatchback, Honda Civic Sedan, Honda Insight, Honda Odyssey, and Honda CR-V because we think drivers should have options regarding safety. Each model received the highest possible score in all six IIHS crash tests and scored “SUPERIOR” on vehicle-to-vehicle frontal crash prevention. These vehicles deliver the classic reliability of owning a Honda while actively taking steps to prevent accidents on the road. So what new technologies keep our precious cargo safe?
Your Honda Car or SUV Has Your Back
All Honda vehicles include the Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) structure which features supplemental restraint systems, airbags from all necessary angles, and other installations designed to protect passengers.
Honda Sensing has also become a standard with Honda vehicles and ensures that accidents never happen. Drivers can rely on various new technologies to keep an extra set of eyes on the highway.
Collision Mitigation Braking System: The CMBS sends audio and visual alerts to drivers when corrective action is needed to avoid a collision. In addition, the system sometimes applies brakes to lessen the severity of the impact.
Forward Collision Warning: The FCW in your 2022 Honda will warn you when it detects slow-moving vehicles ahead or when it senses that a driver should slow down to avoid a potential accident.
Road Departure Mitigation: The RDM uses a windshield-mounted camera to detect road markings and ensure that a vehicle is within its lane.
Lane Departure Warning: LDW systems alert drivers via an alarm when they are drifting out of their lane. The alarm will also let drivers know which direction they are drifting.
Lane Keeping Assist System: An LKAS keeps track of a vehicle's location within its lane. The LKAS will gently steer the car back if a driver strays over the line.
Adaptive Cruise Control: The ACC will notice when approaching a vehicle and automatically adjust the speed to avoid impact while maintaining cruise control.
