2021 Honda Civic Hatchback Overview
The 2021 Honda Civic Hatchback is available in four trims: the LX, Sport, EX, and Sport Touring. The Honda Civic Hatchback LX and EX get the same engine as the Honda Civic Sedan’s EX, EX-L, and Touring trims. It’s also standard on the Civic Hatchback Sport and Sport Touring but produces 180 horsepower instead of 174 horsepower. The LX and EX get 31 MPG city* and 40 MPG highway*. The Sport and Sport Touring get 29 mpg city* and 37 mpg highway*. The Honda Civic Hatchback has a similar body design to the Civic Sedan but features Honda’s signature “wing’ grille crossbar in the rear. The interior is also identical to the Civic sedan but offers even more cargo space, with 25.7 cubic feet of cargo room behind the rear seats and 46.2 feet once you fold down the back row.
2021 Honda Civic Hatchback Type R Overview
The 2021 Honda Civic Hatchback Type R is only available in two trims, the Civic Type R and Limited Edition model. Both 2021 Honda Civic Type R hatchback models have a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 306 horsepower that gets 22 mpg city* and 28 mpg highway*. It’s the quickest Honda Civic model and is one of the fastest sport compacts on the market. The interior and exterior have a racing-inspired design that features a wing spoiler positioned near roof height to create downforce and a rear diffuser that reduces drag for high-speed. The interior is fitting with red accents and comfy racing seats. The 2021 Honda Civic Hatchback Type R is the only Civic that seats four passengers.
